電阻爐(resistance furnace)
自從發現電流的熱效應即楞茨-焦耳定律)以后,電熱法先用于家用電器,后來又用 (

于實驗室小電爐。隨著鎳鉻合金的發明,到20世紀20年代,電阻爐已在工業上得到廣泛應用。工業上用的電阻爐一般由電熱元件、砌體、金屬殼體、爐門、爐用機械和電氣控制系統等組成。加熱功率從不足一千瓦到數千千瓦。工作溫度在 650℃以下的為低溫爐;650~1000℃為中溫爐;1000℃以上為高溫爐。在高溫和中溫爐內主要以輻射方式加熱。在低溫爐內則以對流傳熱方式加熱,電熱元件裝在風道內,通過風機強迫爐內氣體循環流動,以加強對流傳熱。電阻爐有室式、井式、臺車式、推桿式、步進式、馬弗式和隧道式等類型。可控氣氛爐、真空爐、流動粒子爐等也都是電阻爐。
電熱元件具有很高的耐熱性和高溫強度,很低的電阻溫度系數和良好的化學穩定性。常用的材料有金屬和非金屬兩大類。金屬電熱元件材料有鎳鉻合金、鉻鋁合金、鎢、鉬、鉭等,一般制成螺旋線、波形線、波形帶和波形板。非金屬電熱元件材料有碳化硅、二硅化鉬、石墨和碳等,一般制成棒、管、板、帶等形狀。電熱元件的分布和線路接法,依爐子功率大小和爐溫要求而定。
電阻爐與火焰爐相比,具有結構簡單、爐溫均勻、便于控制、加熱質量好、無煙塵、無噪聲等優點,但使用費較高。
